Statistics, statistics and statistics

Sadly, there is no escaping this – stats come up in these exams.

Thankfully, the level of involvement isn’t too great, and very much related to an applied context.

What does that mean? Well, you might be presented with a very brief academic paper and be asked to interpret the findings. The sorts of things that medical AKT exams worldwide tend to test include:

-p-values

-odds ratios

-forest plots

-screening interpretation – sensitivity, specificity, and predictive values.

The stats part of modern curricula isn’t large, but it does feature consistently.

Our advice? There isn’t that much exam game here – you either know it or you don’t. We would recommend doing a brief statistics crash course.
